You know, the kind that are perky, cheerful, and overly productive before 8 AM. They really are quite awesome, just not while I haven’t been properly caffeinated. I have tried to be one of these people for many years, but just can’t seem to get it done. It’s not for the lack of trying, I am just NOT. I don’t care what people say- it does not matter how long I have slept, when I have slept, what I am doing, I just don’t feel pleasant before about 10 AM.
Just a warning.
Seeing the sun rise for whatever reason is terrible, and I just wanted to understand how people do it. How?
My father has an extremely unique skill (besides creating near disaster wherever he sits/rests/stands/etc) that I have seen no other person ever perform.
The skill: Radio Station Exploration.
Yes people, this is the real deal. It does not matter what city/state/province we are located, what game is on, what team is playing, what natural disaster has occurred…my father can magically tune in to the AM/FM stations and just FIND whatever we need to listen to.
How? Is this some skill aquired before 1955 that my mother and most other adults I am familiar with right now will never know?
Just wondering. Because I find this really awesome.

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to….love what you do. Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything – all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart. Your time is limited. Don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
